American conductor Andrew Gekoskie is Music Director and founder of the Orchestra X Project professional orchestra in south Florida.  The Orchestra X Project is a highly-versatile orchestra comprised of the best professional musicians from throughout the southeast and offering classical, pops, and new music performances to audiences throughout south Florida. 


In January, 2024, Andrew will conduct the Utah All-State Orchestra.


A Pennsylvania native, Andrew made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2002.  He has also guest conducted orchestras at home and abroad including the Butler Symphony, the Hartt Symphony, the Winchester Orchestra, the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, the Langley Symphony Orchestra, the Gardens Pops Orchestra, the Weiss Pops Orchestra, the Fairfax Wind Symphony, and the Minnesota Youth Orchestra... to name a few.  A proponent of new music, he has commissioned world-premieres by and collaborations with composers Arturo Rodriguez, Steven Bryant, John Mackey, and Richard Danielpour.


As an award-winning high school band and orchestra director for many years, and now as a sought after clinician, he has worked tirelessly to promote the importance of music education and performance for all ages and economic backgrounds.  Andrew’s education initiatives have been featured in School Band & Orchestra Magazine, and he has presented educational content at professional music education conferences in Pennsylvania, Utah, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, Missouri, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, and New Jersey.  His vision to bring music education and performance opportunities to all students are ongoing and have helped expand outreach programs, engage the greater community, increase funding initiatives, develop effective music interpretation/rehearsal techniques, and plant the seeds of music engagement for the audiences of tomorrow.


His personal mission: Change every performer and every member of the audience through music’s extraordinary, collaborative power to communicate, inspire, uplift, educate, and entertain.
