Samantha Hill's musical journey began at a young age, as she simultaneously took up the piano and violin.  Over time, she expanded her skills to include the flute, guitar, cello, and viola.  During her high school years, she performed with the Maryland Harford Youth Orchestra and the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, continuing her musical pursuits while attending Harford Community College before transferring to the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA).

At UAA, where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in music with a focus on music education and strings, Samantha distinguished herself as concertmaster of the university’s Sinfonia.  She also performed with the Early Music Ensemble on bass viola da gamba, participated regularly with the Chamber Ensemble, and was an active member of the UAA String Club, which introduced students to the music of diverse cultures. In addition, she occasionally played violin with Anchorage’s only mariachi band, Agave Azul, and accompanied the Anchorage Community Orchestra.  Samantha also co-founded the Anchorage Bowl Chamber Orchestra, where she served as principal second violin.

Her passion for music and teaching led Samantha to establish a private studio in 2013, where she focuses on instructing students in strings and piano.

Outside of her musical endeavors, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four young children.  As a military family, they love exploring the world and discovering new musical opportunities along the way.
