Bio - Bruce Rogers

Bruce Rogers leads the vocal and choral programs at Mt. San Antonio College, directing the award-winning Chamber Singers and the elite vocal jazz ensemble, Singcopation. His choirs have excelled internationally, achieving top rankings in competitions across continents including North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Notably, he made history in 2001 and again in 2005 by having two different choirs perform at both the IAJE National Convention and the ACDA National Convention, a feat he repeated in 2017 at the JEN National Conference and the ACDA National Convention.

Apart from his achievements in the U.S., Mr. Rogers has an extensive international presence as a guest conductor and clinician. He has conducted at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and served as a headline clinician in Australia and Europe, celebrating significant events such as the 200th Anniversary of Haydn's death. His expertise in both classical and vocal jazz has led to invitations to adjudicate and present at numerous national and international festivals, workshops, and conventions, enhancing his reputation as a distinguished conductor and educator globally.

Mr. Rogers is well-versed academically, holding a B.S. degree in Music Education from the University of Connecticut, a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Claremont Graduate University, and doctoral studies at the University of Southern California. Prior to his tenure at Mt. San Antonio College, he dedicated twenty-two years to teaching in the public school system, including a significant period at Upland High School.
